Distilled water in motorcycle radiator. Try a 50 50 mix of vinegar and distilled water instead. Deionized water is very nearly as pure as distilled or more pure in some cases from what i gather and for radiators it doesn t matter which. You can use special flushing formulas to flush any old coolant from your radiator and tank. As it chemically removes electrons from the metals of cooling system components distilled water eventually does extreme damage that could lead to cooling system failure.

You can also use deionized in batteries. Antifreeze coolants also cause corrosion but modern versions of the product have been infused with rust inhibitors. The solids inside of tap water could corrode the inside of your engine. However if you decide to go a self mix route make sure that you use distilled water and not tap water.

It s also possible to use a 50 50 ratio of distilled water and vinegar to flush your system. By itself distilled water is much better at heat transfer compared to antifreeze coolants. So if you keep adding coolant it will increase the coolant to water ratio and may damage radiator and engine system. Drain the vinegar distilled water mix out flush the system again with only distilled water and drain once more.

This leaves distilled water ionically hungry so it will actually strip electrons from the metals in a cooling system as it attempts to chemically re balance itself. However water by itself causes the metal parts in the cooling system to corrode.
